CUNY BA Scholarship Applications Are Opening on January 31.

Applications for four different CUNY BA scholarships will open on Monday, January 31, and will close on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 11:59 pm

 The Thomas W. Smith Academic Fellowship  
Thomas W. Smith Academic Fellowships are funded through a donation by Mr. Thomas W. Smith to recognize academic excellence. Awards are renewable each semester as long as the recipient meets the fellowship requirements and is making sufficient progress toward completing the degree.  

The Memorial Scholarship for Students in Education or Human Services   
For CUNY Baccalaureate students in any Area of Concentration who are preparing for careers in Social Services, Human Services, or Education.  

The Barbara Sproul Scholarship  
In honor of Religious Studies Professor and CUNY BA faculty mentor, Barbara Sproul, a scholarship has been established for CUNY BA students, who are pursuing religious studies directly or an interdisciplinary field that includes religious studies.  

The Anne Duncan Somsen Memorial Fund (Scholarship for New Students Only)  
In memory of her mother, CUNY Baccalaureate alumna Pennell Somsen (B.A., 2015) established The Anne Duncan Somsen Memorial Fund to offer financial assistance to students who are entering CUNY BA for the first time and who are the first in their families to pursue a college education.

The submission deadline for the scholarships listed above is Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 11:59 pm. All letters of recommendation must be received by this date as well.
