Library Resources for CUNY Students

Library Resources for CUNY Students

The many libraries across the CUNY system give students a vast trove of resources. Each library has a collection of research guides linked below with each library, which is broken down by subject and sometimes even by course.

Every library also has information on assistive technology should you need additional technology to make research and materials more accessible. Every library in the CUNY system allows you to virtually “ask a librarian” for help through an instant messaging feature. Hours differ across campuses.

Through your home library, you also have access to interlibrary loan (ILL), which allows you to order books unavailable in their catalogs from other universities and research libraries. The homepage of each campus library has instructions on how to request an ILL. Through your home campus, additionally, you are entitled to complimentary digital subscriptions to the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.

Below you will find links to each library’s research guides, as well as to additional services available at those libraries. Each library is likely to have additional services not listed on their websites, so please talk to library staff to learn more about what is available to you. While some resources below may require you to have an ID for that specific campus, others are available to all students in the CUNY system.
