CUNY BA STUDENTS: Apply for the Spring 2023 Digital Project Institute (DPI)

Digital Project Institute (DPI) is an introduction to core digital skills that can be applied widely to different kinds of projects generously funded by the Petrie Foundation.

LEARNING GOALS:

At the 2023 DPI Institute, students will learn how to:

  • Design a basic web page
  • Read, manage, and clean data
  • Create interactive data visualizations
  • Manage individual and team projects
  • Find and understand the necessary tools to approach a new project
  • Prepare for careers in academia or the tech industry

These goals are in line with NACE core competencies for career readiness and will be accomplished through engaging lunchtime talks with industry and academic professionals, and through various workshops, including Working with Data: Fundamentals, Data Visualization with Tableau, Principles of Web Design, Introduction to HTML and CSS, Github and Github Pages, and Introduction to JavaScript.

Deadline to apply: Applications are due by 11:59 pm on Friday, December 9, 2022.

Schedule
Each day of the institute (1/17–1/20) will begin at 10am and end at 5pm, with breaks scheduled. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Participation is expected in all four sessions.
