Ruijiao Dong is a Ph.D. Candidate in Theatre and Performance at the CUNY Graduate Center, with a certificate in Critical Theory. His dissertation develops an analytical paradigm from his long-time study of amateur theatre, and he applies this paradigm to analyze the professionalization of Chinese theatre in the past century and contemporary to understand discourses of modernity in theatrical and cultural practice. He currently teaches as an adjunct instructor at Baruch College. He has also taught at Hunter College and worked as a Writing Center Fellow at the CUNY School of Law.
