Yes, we will have a short reception with light refreshments right after the ceremony in the lobby of the Proshansky Auditorium.

We will not send invitations to Faculty Mentors; however, you are welcome to extend an invitation. Please let us know at events@cunyba.cuny.edu if your Faculty Mentor will attend. In this case, your Faculty Mentor will not count as part of your guest allowance, but we must add them to the guest list.

Regalia Information for Graduates:

• Mandatory: It is mandatory to wear an all-black cap and gown with the CUNY BA stole and tassel to participate in the ceremony. This year we are launching a unique custom stole in royal blue!
• If you have a black cap and black gown for your home college’s ceremony, you may use it for our ceremony and only order the CUNY BA custom stole and tassel.
• How to Order Regalia: After completing the 2025 Commencement Ceremony online form, you will be redirected to the designated regalia vendor website. In the search box, type CUNY BA. You will purchase your regalia directly from the vendor and it will be shipped to the address you provide to the vendor.
• Deadline: It is your responsibility to order your regalia before the deadline of May 10, 2025 to be able to receive it on time for the CUNY BA commencement ceremony. You may order your regalia earlier to use the cap, gown, and stole at your home campus ceremony.

Commencement is a ceremony. For CUNY BA, it takes place once a year, in June, and the prior September and January and upcoming June and September graduates are invited.

• • Graduation indicates the completion of all degree requirements and the conferral of your degree as follows:
  • Students who complete their degree requirements in the fall semester become January graduates;
  • Students who complete their degree requirements in the spring semester become June graduates;
  • Students who complete their degree requirements in the summer semester become September graduates.

A few weeks after your degree has been granted, you will receive an email from our diploma company, Parchment, which will allow you to download a digital version of your diploma. You will also receive a printed copy from them by mail (please make sure your CUNYfirst account has your correct mailing address).

Degrees are granted on June 30th, September 1st, and January 31st.
