Labanya Unni is a Ph.D. student in English at the Graduate Center, CUNY. Her research interests include postcolonial literature and theory, novel studies, critical theory, and modernist studies. Her dissertation looks at popular movements and their representation in novels around the time of the Indian Independence movement. More broadly, she studies fictional works and ethnographies from the Global South through a geocritical lens. She is currently teaching at Baruch College. For CUNY BA, Labanya will be responsible for grant writing and assessment activities.
