Anke Geertsma is a Ph.D. Candidate in Comparative Literature. Her research focuses on annotation practices and social annotation tools in literature classrooms. In addition to her doctoral research, she works as a program assistant for the Office of Academic Initiatives and Strategic Innovation. Anke has worked in various other roles at the Graduate Center, most recently as a scholarships and events coordinator at the CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies and previously as a fellow at the Teaching and Learning Center.
Anke has taught language and literature courses at different CUNY colleges and at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, where she is from. At the University of Groningen, she also worked as an education specialist in the professional development team of the Educational Support and Innovation department. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in American Studies from the University of Groningen.
