Dear CUNY BA Community,
We are pleased to inform you of our plans for continued service as our office transitions over to a more virtual presence. Below is some information about how we will operate during this time, and contact information for each of our departments. We will let you know as soon as our physical offices can be re-opened, but in the meantime, we are here and available online!
If you have any general questions, or if you are not sure who in our office to speak with, please email us at general@cunyba.cuny.edu and we will be happy to direct you to the appropriate individual(s).
Stay well!
(Mr.) Kim J. Hartswick, Ph.D.
Academic Director
CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies
Admissions
The Office of Admissions is available online. Please contact Peter Altman(peter.altman39@cunyba.cuny.edu) if you have any admissions-related questions.
For any prospective students, please be advised that all applications and supporting documents (unofficial transcripts, personal statements, etc.) can be submitted as a PDF or image attachment by email directly to Peter. Please note that official versions of all transcripts will still need to be submitted directly to the program office. You can contact Peter with any questions. Many thanks for your continued interest in the program during this challenging time.
Academic Advisement
CUNY BA advising in the time of COVID-19 continues uninterrupted, we are just moving it online. Please feel free to reach out via phone or email. We will be happy to chat about how you are handling this semester, the transition to virtual learning, academic calendar, ePermits, registration for summer/fall, and anything else. We can also schedule a regular graduation audit, credit check, or advising session. If you want to connect via WebEx, just let us know.

Registrar
For students who are preparing for registration, please be advised that we are available online and will still be processing ePermits.
PDF transcripts are available to currently enrolled students and those who graduated from CUNY BA in June 2018 or later. We are unable to fulfill other transcript requests at this time.
Please contact Ann Marie Doering (annmarie.doering09@cunyba.cuny.edu) and Samuel Hellmann (samuel.hellmann53@cunyba.cuny.edu) if you have any questions.
Additional Resources
We are compiling various resources that could benefit members of our CUNY BA community (e.g., tools for online learning, funding and financial aid opportunities), and you can find them on our CUNY BA Community site. If you are a current CUNY BA student, you already have access to that site, and can find it in the My Organizations area when you log in to Blackboard. If you are a faculty mentor and would like access to the site, please contact us at general@cunyba.cuny.edu and let us know.
Workshops and Events
The two Applying to Graduate School Workshops that are scheduled for March are going virtual! For information and to sign up, visit:

We are also converting our Student Showcase (scheduled for May) into a virtual event. If you have already submitted an application you are all set, and we will be reviewing it in these next few weeks. If you have not had a chance to submit your application yet, fear not! We are extending the deadline for applications to Friday, April 3rd. For more information, visit the Student Showcase page on the CUNY BA Community site (in Blackboard).
Tips from Our Staff
To take a break from current events, Rafal recommends downloading to your phone the Overdrive app (https://app.overdrive.com/). It could be linked with any libraries that you are a member of. Once all is synced, download away!… for example, audio books. All is free. On Rafal’s phone, you will find Richard Holbrook’s biography by George Paker and The Likeness by Tana French.
