WHAT IS CUNY BACCALAUREATE (CUNY BA)?
CUNY BA is an Interdisciplinary Studies program that works within the CUNY system. It has been around for over fifty years! CUNY BA is for students who want to design a bachelor’s degree (Area of Concentration|AOC) that is not already offered in CUNY. CUNY BA students take courses in the CUNY departments and/or colleges to fulfill the AOC requirements. So, students will have to be enrolled in a CUNY college to be part of the CUNY BA program (that will be the student’s home college).
For Example: A student in CUNYBA would not create an Area of Concentration (AOC) that is just “Computer Science” (since Computer Science is already offered as a traditional major in a CUNY college). Instead, they would create a single AOC named “Computer Science and Cyber Security” or study two disciplines separately and have two AOCs, such as
AOC 1: Computer Science AOC 2: Cyber Security and Mathematics.
CUNY BA Virtual information sessions give an overview of the program. This includes:
The CUNY BA info session covers:
-
- How CUNY BA works and the application requirements.
- The CUNY BA application process and requirements for creating the CUNY BA Area of Concentration (AOC).
- Also, where to search for CUNY courses for your CUNY BA Area of Concentration (AOC).
- What a CUNY BA Faculty Mentor is
- Opportunities and pipeline programs within CUNY BA

ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY [Online Workshop]
Monday, November 4, 12 PM – 1 PM

In this workshop, you will learn about the elements of an annotated bibliography, how to compose it, and sample annotated bibliography entries. Students are encouraged, but not required, to bring at least one source (like a book, article, or document) and work with the Fellows to write an entry for an annotated bibliography.
