Justine Lyons (she/her) is a Ph.D. Candidate in Sociology, and has also completed the Graduate Center’s Doctoral Certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies. Her dissertation examines conflict-related violence against women in Cameroon’s two regional crises. Prior to coming to CUNY, Justine completed a MA of International Human Rights at the University of Denver, and a BA of Political Science and Human Rights at Barnard College, and has held various professional and volunteer positions in the nonprofit world. She currently teaches sociology courses at Queens College, and has just completed a year as a WAC Fellow at Guttman Community College. With the CUNY BA Fellowship, she will work on Leadership Development.
