CUNY BA Diplomas
When students officially graduate, they will get a letter in the mail a few months later letting them know when their diplomas are printed and ready to be picked up at the CUNY BA program office. The program office keeps diplomas for all students who did not pick theirs up, dating back to the beginning of the program—so you can still get yours by contacting us at 212.817.8221 to confirm our office hours, and then planning to come in for it.
Students who have relocated outside of New York can arrange to have their diploma mailed to them as follows:
- Statement Letter: Notify the CUNY Baccalaureate Registrar in writing, that you give permission for your diploma to be mailed to you and that you take full responsibility for the condition of its receipt. Please be sure to print your full name, sign and date the letter/email.
- Envelope: Send a self-addressed and stamped envelope (United States Post Office only). Note that the diploma size is 16″ x 13″ and weighs less than 1 lb.

Again, remember that the program is not responsible for your diploma if it is lost or damaged in the mail should you choose this option.
If you lose or damage your diploma, you can request a new one. Write to the program’s Registrar. Your letter must include your signature. The cost is $30.00 (check or money order, made out to “The Graduate Center”). Cash payments may be made in person at the Bursar’s Office on the 8th floor of the Graduate Center; receipts must be brought to the CUNY BA office in Room 6412. Payment cannot be made online. Replacement diplomas are ordered by the program office three times a year, at the same time that the graduating class diplomas are ordered, usually in August, October, and February.
