Dissertation topic: Examining the effects of boredom in the workplace, with a focus on organizationally-desirable outcomes of boredom and the environments in which these outcomes are more likely to occur

Bio: Manuel (Manny) Gonzalez earned a dual B.A. in Psychology (honors) and Music at Rutgers University, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychology at the CUNY Graduate Center. His academic interests pertain to (1) the influences of emotions (boredom, envy, and resentment, to name a few) in the workplace, and (2) how people react to the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in hiring processes, although he has studied various other topics. Beyond his academic interests, Manny is also known for being an avid “cat dad” and for making obnoxious (hilarious) puns and other assorted dad jokes.
